Job Title: Head Business Development

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall management of the organization s business development planning, execution and follow-up. Identify potential business opportunities and develop strategies and teams to bring new and repeat business opportunities to management for consideration. Lead in an assertive manner with a view to achieving new business opportunities and clients as well as maintaining existing relationships and ensuring that The Company is on all targeted bid lists.

  • Business Development Officers Reports to: Executive Director, Operations, Executive Director, Finance
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the industry with all levels within client organizations to understand the client s business drivers and to enable better execution, resolution of issues and general  alignment.
  • Keep abreast of market trends to allow the company to properly respond to economic, technological and industry changes.
  • Represent and promote the company throughout the industry and in the communities in which it operates and develop strategic relationships and agreements.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for market development and penetration in line with the organization s growth targets.
  • Develop strategic and tactical marketing plans in order to keep the profile of the company high and in the appropriate public areas.
  • Develop and steward consistent and effective implementation of the organization s business development strategy, policies and directives in the formulation of proposals and contracts.
  • Oversee the development of the professionally prepared prequalification submissions and develop business proposals and presentations.
  • Identify and analyze potentially attractive future prospects.
  • Develop and maintain a project pipeline that outlines future opportunities and the potential revenue stream.
  • Actively seek and source new opportunities with the company s strategic direction from new and existing customers.
  • Participate in key project meetings and strategy sessions; coordinating business development activities in conjunction with estimating, procurement, contracts and project management.
  • Develop strategies for management of client contracts regarding new work.
  • Proactively and continuously assess the business landscape and apprise the management team of potential mergers, acquisitions and / or growth opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations and recommendation memoranda for Senior Executive and the Board. Support other executives in the preparation of coordinated Board packages.
  • Responsible for client surveys to provide feedback for continuous improvement. Develop and implement the  corporate brand  ensuring appropriate marketing materials are available.
  • Continuously improve the company s business development processes with a view to increasing results for the organization and in alignment with the corporate vision and strategic priorities.

Experience
  • The successful candidate will have 10-15 years of Business Development experience in the construction, industrial services, engineering or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction and industrial services market specific to Nigeria, with a broad understanding of multiple markets is preferred.
  • 1st degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business Administration or any other related field
  • Professional qualification and/or MBA would be an added advantage

Arbico Plc Vacancy : Estimator

Arbico Plc is recruiting for the position of an Estimator . Arbico Plc is recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Title: Estimator
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities:
  • Consistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry.
  • When tenders arrive, assess the type of tender, client and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders.
  • Review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are correct.
  • Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc. and provide feedback to the Commercial Manager.
  • In-conjunction with Quantity Surveyors, conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.
  • Calculate and prepare quantities in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyors.
  • Source subcontractors & suppliers capable of complying with tender in coordination with Quantity Surveyor, Purchasing Officer and other Estimators and send out subbies packs.
  • Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.
  • Once tender is completed, incorporate all relevant details, forward to Executive Management for review and approval prior to submission.
  • Liaise with client on an on-going basis to determine progress of tender.
  • Compile relevant tender information into Benchmark & estimate price.
  • Make tender amendments where applicable utilizing client feedback on submitted tender.
  • In-conjunction with the Projects Director, review contract details relevant to the company’s ability to deliver under the contract.
  • Provide feedback to Executive Management regarding commercial contract exposure on the proposed project.
  • Once tender has been successful co-ordinate and arrange for contract exchange.
  • In conjunction with the Quantity Surveyors and co-estimator, prepare handover material of tender for the project team
  • Co-ordinate and conduct "Handover" meeting with the project team, providing detailed briefing of the tender requirements.
  • Keep up to date and abreast of industry factors that may impact on the business.
  • Identify new and existing clients that can assist in the proactive promotion of the company providing feedback to Senior Management.
  • In-conjunction with Quantity Surveyors, prepare procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are consistent with changes.
  • In-conjunction with Quantity Surveyors, regularly review procedures / work instructions etc. for currency, productivities and methodologies.
Qualification/Experience:
  • A good university degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional membership of local/foreign registered Quantity Survey body
  • Minimum of 6 years post qualification experience in the Construction Industry
  • Field construction experience is highly desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of estimating software- Summit, Candy etc.

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Location:
Lagos

Job Description/ Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
  • Report to management about asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
  • Review data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
  • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
  • Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
  • Prepare, analyze, and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
  • Confer with Executive management about financial and regulatory matters.
  • Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and cancelled checks to confirm records are accurate.
  • Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.
  • Examine records to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Produce up-to-the-minute information, using internal computer systems, to allow management to base decisions on actual, not historical, data.
  • Conduct pre-implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will work as planned.
  • Review taxpayer accounts, and liaise with external auditors and Tax regulatory bodies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in auditing role
  • Have knowledge and experience to conduct risk assessment and compile an internal audit annual plan.
  • Knowledge of Financial management systems, accounting policies and standards; tax management, costing accounting etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills
